Why people choose implants

Looks & feels natural

Custom-shaded crowns and careful gum shaping help your new tooth blend in seamlessly.

Protects your bite

Implants help keep neighboring teeth from shifting and support healthy chewing forces.

No removable parts

Unlike partials, an implant is fixed—no clasps, no nightly soaking, no slipping.

Thoughtful, step-by-step care

Step 1

Digital evaluation

We review health history, scan your bite, and plan the safest path forward.

Step 2

Comfortable placement

Gentle technique and comfort options. Many patients return to normal within 24–48 hours.

Step 3

Healing & support

We guide soft-food choices and hygiene while the implant bonds with bone.

Step 4

Final crown

A custom abutment and crown complete the result for everyday strength and esthetics.

Our implant system

Why we use BioHorizons® implants

We place BioHorizons implants because they’re engineered for stability and long-term tissue health, which supports comfortable function and natural esthetics.

Designed for soft-tissue & bone support

Their Laser-Lok® surface is designed to encourage bone integration and a tight soft-tissue seal at the neck of the implant—helping maintain crestal bone and gum contours around your crown.

Primary stability with tapered shapes

The tapered family offers strong initial stability in many bone types and a wide range of diameters and lengths, so we can match the implant to your anatomy.

Restorative flexibility

Compatible abutment options support single teeth, bridges, and full-arch care—making future maintenance and upgrades more straightforward.

American-made quality

BioHorizons manufactures implants in the U.S. with rigorous quality controls and research-driven design.

BioHorizons® and Laser-Lok® are registered trademarks of BioHorizons. We are an independent dental practice.

Digital scans, precise fit

We use modern intraoral scanning and a high-quality partner lab to design implant crowns and abutments with remarkable precision—less goop, fewer remakes, and a smooth finish appointment.

Dental Implant FAQs

How long do dental implants last?

With great home care and routine checkups, implants can last many years. The crown on top may eventually need replacement due to normal wear.

Does implant placement hurt?

Patients are often surprised how comfortable it is. We use thorough local anesthesia and offer comfort options. Mild soreness after is typical and manageable.

Who is a good candidate for implants?

Healthy gums, adequate bone (or a plan for grafting), and good oral hygiene habits. We’ll evaluate medical history, medications, and habits like smoking or grinding.

How long does the process take from start to finish?

Typical timelines range from a few months to several months depending on healing and whether extractions, grafting, or sinus lift are needed. We’ll map your plan clearly up front.

Can I get an implant the same day as an extraction? What about a same-day temporary?

Often, yes—when the site is healthy and bone is adequate, we can place an immediate implant and/or provide a temporary tooth. We’ll determine safety and stability at your consult.

What if I don’t have enough bone? Do I need a graft or sinus lift?

If bone is thin or shallow, a graft or sinus lift can create stable support. We’ll review 3D imaging and discuss options, healing time, and costs before proceeding.

Why does your office use BioHorizons® implants?

They’re engineered for stability and healthy tissue response, with designs and surfaces that support bone and soft tissue. That helps with long-term comfort and natural esthetics.

Are implants titanium or zirconia? Which is better?

Most implants are titanium due to long track record and versatility. Zirconia is a metal-free option for select cases. We’ll recommend what fits your anatomy, goals, and medical history.

How do I care for an implant at home?

Brush twice daily, clean between teeth (floss or interdental brushes), and consider a water flosser. See us regularly to protect the tissues around your implant.

What is peri-implantitis? How do you prevent it?

It’s inflammation/infection around an implant. Great home care, regular cleanings, and early treatment of any bleeding or tenderness help prevent progression.

I grind my teeth. Can I still get an implant?

Usually yes. We’ll often protect your new restoration with a custom nightguard to reduce bite stress and extend longevity.

What about diabetes, osteoporosis, or bone-density medications?

Well-controlled diabetes can be compatible with implants. Antiresorptive drugs (especially IV) need careful risk assessment. We’ll coordinate with your physician and plan safely.

Does smoking or vaping affect implants?

Nicotine reduces blood flow and increases complications. Quitting—or pausing around surgery and early healing—improves outcomes.

How long is the appointment, and what’s recovery like?

Placement typically takes about an hour per site. Most patients resume normal routines within 24–48 hours, following soft-food and care instructions.

What will I wear while the implant heals—will I have a gap?

We can provide a discreet temporary (flipper, Essex, or a provisional crown in appropriate cases) so you can smile confidently during healing.

Do you use 3D imaging or guided surgery to plan my implant?

Yes—we use digital planning and guides when beneficial for precision and safety. This helps protect nerves and sinus spaces and improves restorative positioning.

Is the crown screw-retained or cement-retained—and does it matter?

Both are common. Screw-retained crowns are easily retrievable; cement-retained can help in certain esthetic angles. We’ll choose what serves your bite and smile best.

What are the alternatives to an implant?

For a single tooth: a traditional bridge or a removable partial denture. For multiple teeth: implant bridges or implant-supported dentures. We’ll compare pros/cons and costs.

How much do implants cost, and how does insurance work?

Fees depend on site and grafting needs. PPO plans vary—many cover the crown, sometimes the abutment, and fewer cover the implant body. We verify benefits and provide a written estimate.
